Answer: The top Nazi leaders, 22 in all, were each placed on trial. Many Nazi leaders were convicted of war crimes; they were found guilty. A few had managed to escape and flee to Argentina. Sentences were carried out for each person on trial.

They went to colleges and universities to spread the word that people should not blame all people from Germany, but to ensure that this tragedy would never happen again. People cannot be allowed to forget the travesties that occurred with Hitler’s regime.
People lashed out at Helen (and Alfons) because they thought she had forgiven the terrible acts that Alfons and others like him had committed during the war.
