2. Introduction
Background Scheduler is currently deployed at our institutions as a standalone system, which deals with a small amount of patient information and stores visit information. Users at the CRC are manually doing double data entry in these two areas to synchronize Scheduler and their EMR (Epic). This pain point introduced the idea of a system integration. Integration Points/Efforts Where We Are Today We are currently scoping the integration to pull patient information from EMPI.
Patient Information (EMPI)
Scheduled Visit Information
Pull patient information from EMPI into Scheduler, linked by MRN as the unique identifier
Manual pull/refresh by user for a single subject
Automatic nightly batch refreshes
Send basic visit information from Scheduler to Epic (including newly scheduled visits, reschedules, cancellations)
Users would print labels, check-in patients in Epic
Check-in and check-out information possibly sent back from Epic to Scheduler
