Read the description of the person’s outfit. Find the person in the room and give them their piece of paper. Once you have found the right person and given them their paper, sit in your seat.

Demonstratives: These DEMONSTRATE which item you are talking about.
In English: This, these, that, those, that over there, those over there

This/these: Check out the following examples of demonstrative adjectives and watch carefully how they are matched.

Demonstrative adjectives:
These adjectives always match the word they describe. (as you’ve seen in the this/these examples before)

Demonstrative adjectives:
This: este/esta These: estos/estas That: ese/esa Those: esos/esas That over there: aquel/aquella Those over there: aquellos/aquellas Close to the person speaking. Away from the person speaking. Far away from the person speaking.

Demonstrative pronouns:
REPLACE the word demonstrated This is elegant. (talking about a dress) Éste es elegante. Must still match gender/# NOTE: only difference between these and demonstrative adjectives is that there is an added accent on the first “e” of the demonstrative. *
