4. FORMING A REGULAR PRESENT SUBJUNCTIVE SENTENCE:
What you need to know: 1. Regular Subjunctive sentences have two clauses, independent and dependent.
We hope that she eats lunch here.
2. Regular Present Subjunctive sentences contain two different subjects.
3. Regular Present Subjunctive SPANISH sentences use the conjunction “que.” (sometimes the word “that” is not said in English but MUST be written in Spanish.
4. Regular Present Subjunctive sentences have two verbs and a tense and a mood.
First verb=Present Tense Second verb=Subjunctive Mood

5. INDICATIVE OR SUBJUNCTIVE?

First, determine if it is Subjunctive or not….
Ex. 1 Juan is afraid that Luisa does not have the homework.
Ex. 2 Do you (Ud.) feel like singing on Monday?
Ex. 3 I suggest the students listen well today.
Ex. 4 Is he saying that we are mean?
Ex. 5 They are proud that she passes the test.
Ex. 6 The class is sad Mrs. Turnbull is not here today.
