Consolidation of CPEC and the eLearning Library Editorial Board
Agenda Item #6 Maja Bystrom Eric Tappert
2
The Issue There is a bifurcated responsibility for the eLearning Library CPEC’s charter includes oversight of the eLearning Library The eLearning Library Editorial Board’s charter includes responsibility for the Library Both groups report to the EAB, but have no formal representation between them 12/31/2018
3
The Solution Merge the eLearning Library Editorial Board with CPEC
Editor-in-chief would have an automatic seat on CPEC, but not on EAB (CPEC chair would continue to be a member of EAB) Editorial Board would continue as presently organized and meet face-to-face once yearly CPEC would have responsibility for the eLearning Library 12/31/2018
4
Advantages/Disadvantages
A straight forward line of responsibility for the eLearning Library and other continuing education programs Allows for the Editorial Board to assist with other continuing education programs No financial implications Disadvantages None foreseen 12/31/2018
5
Implementation CPEC would be renamed “the Continuing Education Committee” (CEC) The eLearning Library Editorial Board would be renamed “The Continuing Education Editorial Board” (CEEB) Effective January 1, 2012 This proposal has been approved by both CPEC and the eLearning Library Editorial Board 12/31/2018
