30 Proposed By-Law Changes

31 Proposal #1 Subject: Member Applications
Amendment Proposer: IAM Executive Committee Objective of Proposal: In 2016, IAM Members approved an amendment to the By-Laws no longer requiring Standing Committees. At that time, the reference to the Membership Committee in Article IV, Section 2 was not removed. Proposed: for the consideration and approval of the Governing Membership. Article IV, Membership – will be amended as follows: Section 2: Every application for membership shall be referred to the M̶e̶m̶b̶e̶r̶s̶h̶i̶p̶ ̶C̶o̶m̶m̶i̶t̶t̶e̶e̶ Staff of the International Association of Movers (IAM). If the C̶o̶m̶m̶i̶t̶t̶e̶e̶ Staff finds that the applicant is qualified under Section 1 of this Article, it shall approve the application. If the C̶o̶m̶m̶i̶t̶t̶e̶e̶ Staff believes that the applicant does not qualify under Section 1 of this Article, it shall refer the application to the Executive Committee for further investigation and appropriate action.

32 Proposal #2 Subject: Member Terminations
Amendment Proposer: IAM Executive Committee Objective of Proposal: Governing, Core, and Supplier Members may be expelled by IAM if they owe $10,000 USD or more to another Governing, Core, and/or Supplier Member following the procedures set forth in Article IV, Section 4. While this provides IAM with the ability to remove a company who is not paying another member, it does not allow the Association to take action against a company who is incurring smaller debts (less than $10,000 USD) from multiple IAM Members. Proposed: for the consideration and approval of the Governing Membership. Article IV, Membership – will be amended as follows: Section 4: For good cause the Executive Committee may suspend or expel any member of the Association, or take other appropriate action. Good cause includes, but is not limited to, failure to pay dues or other obligations owed to the Association, after proper notice as defined in Article V, Section 2; failure to maintain qualifications for membership as set forth in Section 1 of this Article; failure to comply with the terms and conditions of Membership; and failure to comply with any standards of business conduct which may be adopted by the Association, including the IAM Code of Ethics. Any Governing, Core and/or Supplier Member may be expelled by the Executive Committee for failure to pay monies due a̶n̶o̶t̶h̶e̶r̶ other Governing, Core and/or Supplier Members for services performed at its request, when the following conditions exist: (a) the unpaid account(s) must be for a minimum cumulative amount of $10,000; (b) the account(s) must be a minimum of one hundred and twenty (120) days past due; (c) the Member(s) who h̶a̶s̶ have not been paid must have requested payment, in writing, at least twice; and (d) the debts must not be pending legal action. The Member(s) requesting expulsion of a Governing, Core and/or Supplier Member must present to the Executive Committee documents showing performance of the services, a copy of any applicable written agreement, and any correspondence regarding the unpaid bill, including the written demands for payment. Copies of all such documents must also be furnished concurrently to the Member subject to expulsion. Prior to expelling any member, the Executive Committee shall afford the Member an opportunity for hearing, except as provided in Article V, Section 2. In taking action, the Executive Committee shall act by majority vote, except that a two-thirds vote of the Executive Committee members present, which shall not be less than the majority of the entire Executive Committee, shall be required for the expulsion of any member.

33 IAM Here 2 Help (H2H)

34 What is IAM Here2Help? H2H will serve as a connection point to organizations including governments, globally focused charities, and other NGOs that require private sector transportation, warehousing, and logistical support in the event of a humanitarian crisis or natural disaster anywhere in the world.

35 So Why have IAM Here2Help?
Because it’s Good to do Good. Because it’s Good for promoting your business. and Because it’s Good Business!

36 Why Launch H2H Now? H2H concept has been in development for a couple of years H2H received approval from US Internal Revenue Service as a 501c3 Charitable Non-Profit Organization in early 2018 Increasing number and variety of global crisis and natural disasters call for increased need to respond and provide our support

37 Two More Reasons to Launch H2H Now
The IAM Logistics Network (ILN) easily supports participation in and coordination of Here2Help activities New functionality of IAMX, such as geo-search and validation of logistical capabilities, make it possible to quickly identify service providers and match up with needs

38 Two pots of money go into FEMA’s disaster relief fund.
First, regular Day-to-Day Operations and Routine Events - $615 million Second, Major Declarations, based on what was spent on disaster relief in the past decade. $6.7 billion Sounds like a lot of money, but compared with an estimate of the combined damage from hurricanes Harvey and Irma at $150 billion to $200 billion, it’s a drop in the bucket.
