December 2007 Workshops May 2008 Action plans July 2008 Implement action plans Early Progress February 2007 – Completed a review of literature and effective practices report on ESL/basic skills that included a college assessment/inquiry tool – referred to as the “Poppy Copy.” September 2007 – Secured $33.1 million in annual on-going funding to begin addressing ESL/basic skills efforts. December 2007 – Conduct 20 regional college workshops on the review of literature and assessment/inquiry tool for assessing ESL/basic skills efforts. May 2008 – All college complete and submit action plans utilizing the assessment/inquiry tool. July 2008 – Implement action plans at all colleges.
