How Do You See Your Counselor?
Walk in Please make sure your teacher knows and supports your visit Can be found on the SDHS website under counseling We encourage you to take the lead to talk with us rather than having a parent call or when possible. You are becoming young adults and need to begin to ask questions and have discussions about your learning. We are there to help and guide you through the next 4 years

Paving Your Future These next 4 years will pave your way to your future, whether you will be going off to: College Work Military Career & Technical School Do your best from the beginning! BE INVOLVED- find things that interest you (clubs, sports, other activities)

Middle School High School Prepare for Adulthood Instruction is faster
Prepare for High School Instruction is slower All students take similar courses Grades not on permanent record (except Algebra I, Foreign Language, and PE 8) High School Prepare for Adulthood Instruction is faster More course selections Grades go on permanent record (transcript)

What Is A Transcript? Record of all high school classes you take and the grades you earn, including those taken in middle school for high school credit Includes name of class, grade earned, credit earned, if SOL was passed GPA is included

How Many Credits Do I Need To Graduate?
Standard Diploma: (22 Credits & 5 SOL Tests) 4 English 3 Math 3 Science 3 Social Studies 2 PE Econ & Personal Finance (Career & Readiness Test & Virtual Course) 2 Fine Art/CTE/Foreign Language 6 Electives (2 have to be Sequential Electives Training in Emergency First Aid, CPR, and use of an AED Sport eligibility? Enrolled in at least 3 classes; pass at least 3 classes per semester
