3 From the President-Founder
Brothers, Welcome to your chapter’s introductory meeting. It is a great joy to have you join Seminarians for a Culture of Life. You have taken an important step, a fundamental step, into our movement. As your Chapter Administrator will explain, your role in building a culture of life is essential and key to the success of our efforts. This organization is for you and brought about because of you. We are in a foundational part of our life and God-willing, of our future priestly ministry. We hope to build a culture of life in our seminaries, parishes, and communities in order that life, from conception to natural death, may be treasured, protected, respected, and loved. With a love for life so ardently alive, may we spread the gospel of life to all who encounter us! Let us strive to foster a culture of life in our seminaries and instill a passion and love for a culture where the dignity of each person is upheld and protected.

5 equipped to build a culture of life.
Our Purpose As seminarians, we strive to build a culture of life in our seminaries, parishes, and communities so that the dignity and sanctity of life are upheld. We do so by developing a firm foundation of prayer, education on life issues, and action in order to spread and build a culture where all life, from conception to natural death, is treasured, protected, and respected. This purpose is achieved by uniting seminarians, and those affiliated with them, through the establishment of seminary chapter groups. Seminarians for a Culture of Life works to build productive relationships with other organizations to provide resources to seminary chapters to be better equipped to build a culture of life.

6 Our Motto Planting the Seed of Love for Life
The motto of Seminarians for a Culture of Life is: Planting the Seed of Love for Life As Seminarians, we are the seed of the Church. We pray that as the seed of the Church we may one day bear much fruit that will lead many souls to Christ. Our time in seminary formation is of great importance. It is during this time that we grow in knowledge and wisdom and a time where we grow to mend our hearts with the Priestly Heart of Jesus Christ. We, seminarians, strive to plant the seed of love for the culture of life in our hearts and minds, so those we meet may encounter our love for the dignity and sanctity of life. We as Seminarians for a Culture of Life pray and work in order that the seed of love for life may take root in the hearts of many and one day bear a radiant love for life!

7 Seminarians for a Culture of Life is structured on three pillars:
Our Pillars Seminarians for a Culture of Life is structured on three pillars: Prayer Education Action

8 Manners in which we practice this pillar:
Prayer Pillar Prayer is the foundation of all we do. Through prayer, we come together imploring the help of God so that the dignity of life might be upheld. In prayer, we are united to all our brothers and sisters throughout the world in a closer bond of unity. This organization is founded with the intention of being spiritually united on this issue. We recognized that the various threats against innocent life in our culture, which destroy the dignity and sanctity of life, go far beyond our human understanding. These are primarily spiritual issues and regardless of how much we do, if prayer is not the foundation, the results are limited. Seminarians for a Culture of Life is dedicated to fostering a foundation of prayer in all whom we encounter. Manners in which we practice this pillar: Rosary for Life Vigil for Life Holy Hour for Life

9 Education Pillar Manners in which we practice this pillar:
The Education Pillar calls to mind the need for trained and competent individuals in order to defend the teachings of the Church and the right to life for all. As future priests, we will be challenged with questions and scenarios that will require of us logical and sound reasoning. It is therefore important for us to be well equipped with the adequate knowledge to respond to such occasions. This pillar is not in place to make of us fact checkers; rather, it is intended to increase our understanding and competence in this area. Seminarians for a Culture of Life is dedicated to training and equipping future priests to respond with love and reason to issues within the culture that devalue the dignity and sanctity of life. Manners in which we practice this pillar: Gathering for Life Hosting a Culture of Life Speaker Trainings

10 Action Pillar Manners in which we practice this pillar:
In an effort to not just "talk the talk" but also to "walk the walk," we set out to help those in need so that life may be held as a promising choice. We recognize the need for action, especially in our efforts to build a culture of life, so that others may witness the importance of standing for life. This pillar is achieved by hosting donations for local pregnancy-resource centers. Through prayerful demonstrations in front of facilities that promote a culture of death, such as abortion facilities we stand to promote a culture of life. Seminarians for a Culture of Life is dedicated to being active in our communities and seminaries, so that our witness and involvement may promote a culture of life. Manners in which we practice this pillar: Service Projects Public Advocacy Donations to Pregnancy Resource Centers

11 SCL Spiritual Adoption Program
The SCL Spiritual Adoption Program (SAP) is unique for seminarians. Through the program, seminarians are able to spiritually adopt a child in danger of abortion and for approximately nine months they join spiritually, by praying a special daily prayer for their spiritually adopted child. Through the duration of the program, those involved receive educational s informing one about the development of the child in the womb. At the end of the program, the seminarians join to host a birthday party, where the entire seminary community is invited. At this birthday party, gifts for newborn babies are collected and then donated to a Pregnancy Resource Center or organizations that assist pregnant and parenting mothers This is a national program that begins October 22nd. Your Chapter Administrator will have more information as the commencement of the program approaches. This program of Seminarians for a Culture of Life encompasses all three pillars of the organization.

12 Seminary Chapters Seminary Chapters are groups at local seminaries made up of seminarians and those individuals who are connected to the seminary (faculty, family, and staff). Seminary Chapters are under the leadership of Seminarians for a Culture of Life. The chapters also have their local leaders who work with the national organization to better serve their community and to more effectively build a culture of life within their seminaries. Many times seminaries have interest groups of seminarians coming together to share a common interest in the pro-life cause. Without any solid foundation or representation outside of the seminary, these groups fall apart after the interest is gone. Seminarians for a Culture of Life hopes to end such issue. Adopting the style of Students for Life of America, we hope to form chapter groups within seminaries and houses of formation. Becoming a chapter of Seminarians for a Culture of Life opens the gateway to an endless amount of support, resources, and opportunities. Not only are our chapters welcome to plenty of resources from some of our nations most trusted pro-life organization, but they are also given the opportunity to strategize, grow, and build fraternity and ideas with other seminarians from seminaries throughout the nation and beyond.
