Fertilisation will occur when the nucleus of the sperm cell fuses with the nucleus of the egg cell, forming a zygote.
In humans, fertilisation happens in the oviduct (aka fallopian tube)

Fertilisation is when the nucleus of the egg and nucleus of the sperm FUSE together- a zygote is formed
The zygote contains a full set of chromosomes- half from the sperm and half from the egg
