ONLINE TRAINING: SEARCHING THE LIBRARY CATALOGUE USING THE MULTISEEK SEARCH

3. Login to the iPAC using your Last Name as the Client Code and the 4-digit school code as your Password. Click on Login. Please contact ERC staff if you have difficulties logging in.

4. From the My Profile Page, look for the Terms at the top of the screen to Searching the catalogue. Click on MultiSeek to perform a choice using 2 search terms.

5. The MultiSeek feature allows you to search using more than 1-2 search parameters Although there are 6 drop down menus, searching is limited 2 search terms only. Use the drop down menu to choose your search parameter, i.e. subject and level or call number and level.
Note: the Media and Level Options are currently not functioning.

6. Let’s search for Literature Studies for Intermediate students.
Choose Local Call Number from the drop down menu. All Literature Studies begin with the call number LS, so that is entered into the search field. Next, Choose Level from the drop down menu, and Intermediate in the search field.
You will see a slide later in this presentation outlining all of the call numbers and levels.
Then, Click Search.

7. Your search results show a listing of 86 items.

8. Click on the box to the left of the Call Number to add items to your bookbag. Please refer the ERC Training Presentations for more information on booking items.

9. The MultiSeek is commonly used to limit by media (search for DVDs only, for example) or by level (primary, junior, etc.)
Note: the Media and Level Options are currently not functioning.
