2. What is the White Ribbon Campaign?
The white Ribbon Campaign is a non profit organisation that aims to end sexism and domestic violence towards women. In 1989 a 25 year old student in a Canadian college shot dead 14 female classmates. His actions influenced a group of women's rights activists to start the campaign in hope to stop male violence towards Women and girls. The White Ribbon Campaign is a international success, with over 57 countries participating to end sexism. Here at Baxter College, every year our Community Ambassadors organise an event to raise awareness for the cause. This year, we are collecting Heart shaped pieces of paper with your pledges written on them and we will be making a display out of them.

4. How can you help?
If you want to stand up against domestic violence, You can support the white ribbon campaign by:
Signing the petition to end violence against women.
Wearing your White Ribbon to show support.
Writing a pledge and using it in our display.
You could even start your own fundraising event (Bake sale, Book Sale etc.) and donate the profits to the campaign.
