The holocaust began on january 30th 1933 and primarily took place in germany and poland but happened all over the eastern side of europe including Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Greece, Norway and Western Poland
The nazik regim built a series of dentention centers called concentration camps, The Auschwitz concentration camp complex was the largest of its kind and it included three main camps. The camps were located about 37 miles west of Krakow in western poland
The nazi regime also established “killing centers” in poland which had the largest jewish population out of all the countrie taken by hitler. The killing centers were designed for efficient mass murder ,over 7,00 jews were gasses in these facilities each day
