In April of 1861, the Confederate Army began firing on Fort Sumter
to overtake it. (The Union Army (the North) was inside!)

This battle was the start of the Civil War!
The Union Army was low on both food and ammunition. They were also worried that the attack could cause an explosion inside the fort. The Union Army Verses The Confederate Army This battle was the start of the Civil War! North South Winner: Confederate Army So the Union surrendered. Not a single soldier was killed.

The war between the North (Union) and South (Confederate) was going on and on. It is now 1863.

The Confederate’s headquarters were in Richmond, Virginia. General Robert E. Lee was heading the Confederate Army.

marched from Virginia to Pennsylvania to a town called Gettysburg.

Civil War took place in Gettysburg.

Almost 3,000 bodies of horses are found after the war was over.
The total number of victims from both sides adds up to 51,000 troops. The Battle of Gettysburg lasts for 3 days. In the Civil War of America, battle of Gettysburg has the biggest number of fatalities. The Battle of Gettysburg was a decisive victory for the Union.

with no chance of winning the Civil War.

Battle of Gettysburg took place and dedicate it as a cemetery.
