WhEN is BENEFITS 2019 open enrollment?
Benefits 2019 Open Enrollment is November 12th through November 30th for coverage beginning 1/1/2019 Our annual Benefits Open Enrollment period is your opportunity to: Make changes to your medical, dental, vision and voluntary benefits for the 2019 plan year Add or remove eligible/covered dependents Contribute to Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) and/or Health Savings Accounts (HSA) You must re-enroll! Enroll in or drop Legal Plan coverage, AFLAC Hospital and/or Critical Illness coverage, MetLife pet, auto or home insurance Review and update beneficiary information What do employees need to do during 2019 OE? If you plan to participate in a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you must enroll and make your contribution election for 2019 during OE; 2018 elections do NOT carry over to 2019 If you do not complete the online enrollment, your 2018 elections for all other benefits will remain in effect for 2019

KEY INFORMATION FOR 2019 OPEN ENROLLMENT
Same Options…Same Cost All current benefit vendors and benefit plans remain the same in 2019 No increases to current medical, dental, vision and legal plan premiums; Genesys is covering all medical increases in 2019! (Note: employees who change salary tiers will see their medical premiums move to the new medical premium tier) Employees who have voluntary life and AD&D insurance may have increased premiums due to moving to new age band/rates and April 1st salary increase Enrollment: BenefitsNow Enrollment Site Online enrollment required for 2019 HSA and FSA contributions; 2018 elections do NOT carryover into 2019 If you do nothing or do not finalize your 2019 open enrollment, all other 2018 benefit elections will rollover into 2019 Access through or directly at Medical: Four UnitedHealthcare (UHC) Medical Plans California employees will continue to have Kaiser HMO as a fifth option Dental: 2 dental plans offered by Anthem Vision: 2 vision plans offered by VSP

Health Savings Account (HSA): Your 2018 election will end on December 31, 2018 If you want to participate in 2019, you must enroll in the Health Savings Account (HSA) If you elect an HDHP medical plan, Genesys will contribute to your account based on your coverage tier Employees must open an HSA account with WageWorks in order to receive Genesys and employee contributions (if you do not currently have an HSA account) $750 for employee only coverage (contributed at beginning of each quarter) $1,500 for all other coverage levels (contributed at beginning of each quarter) IRS annual limits increased to $3,500 (employee only coverage) and $7,000 (employee + dependents coverage); these amounts include Genesys contributions, so budget accordingly Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) If you want to participate in 2019, you must enroll in the Health Care FSA and/or a Dependent Care FSA Health Care FSA is available only to employees enrolled in the UHC PPO, Kaiser HMO or who have declined medical coverage through Genesys Administered through WageWorks – you must set up an account at if you don’t already have one Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account (FSA) If you want to participate in 2019, you must enroll in the Limited Purpose FSA Available ONLY to employees enrolled in a United Health Care HDHP Medical Plan Money contributed to this FSA can only be used for dental and vision expenses (you can use your HSA for medical expenses)

2019 Medical plans Genesys offers three United Health Care (UHC) HDHP medical plans and one United Health Care (UHC) PPO medical plan. Kaiser HMO is available as a fifth option in California only. Visit for all the details Plans available to all U.S. Employees UHC HDHP Plan 1 UHC HDHP Plan 2 UHC HDHP Plan 3 UHC PPO Plan Regional Plan Kaiser HMO for California employees only You may also elect to opt out of Genesys medical coverage. Please note that the federal government requires you to have appropriate medical coverage. Penalties apply if you don’t.

2019 Medical plans – the HDHP Plans
Among the most important differences between the UHC HDHP Plans are the deductible amounts and how the family deductible works – aggregate vs. embedded family deductible. You do not have to meet the full family deductible before the plan begins to pay. Aggregate Family Deductible (HDHP Plans 1 & 3): The full family deductible must be met before the plan begins to pay a portion of expenses for any covered family members.

2019 Health Savings Account (HSA)
If you participate in one of the three UHC HDHP medical plans, you will have access to an HSA that you can use to save for current and future expenses. Genesys helps fund your HSA. Qualifying medical, dental, vision and prescription expenses not paid by your medical plan (including deductibles coinsurance and copays) Qualifying dental and vision expenses only (you can use your HSA for qualifying medical expenses) Eligible dependent care expenses you incur so you can work, including qualified baby sitters, nursery school, pre-school, elder care and more. Eligible dependents include children up to age 13 and elderly parents who live in your home, depend on you for 50% of their support and are incapable of self-care. You must re-enroll each year if you want to contribute to your FSA Once enrolled, you may only change annual contributions if you have a Qualifying Life Event, such as marriage, divorce, addition or loss of a dependent, or change in spouse/domestic partner’s employment (must enroll within 31 days of Qualifying Life Event) Documentation for your Qualifying Life Event must be submitted to the Benefits team !
