Effects of Slash-and-Burn
Positive Makes plenty of land to use for farming. Creates a surplus (extra amount) of food. The food is very nutritious. Easy method of clearing a large amount of land. Negative Destroys habitat for animals. Releases carbon dioxide (greenhouse gasses) into the atmosphere. Destroys the land for future use. Farmer needs to rotate crops.
