In Summary: Reminding people of their court dates increases the appearance rate We were able to reduce the FTA rate by 30% when defendants are successfully reminded of their court appearance. Our success so far is with only partial contact information: Only 63% of the texts reminders have successfully reached defendants Only 44% of the s reminders have successfully reached defendants The most common reason for not reaching the defendants is the absence of their contact information. Reducing the Bench Warrants for Failure to Appear can save the county, the public, the court and the defendants negative consequences and costly resources.
