TYPES OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS

IDENTIFY THE TYPES OF CHANGE
4
CHEMICAL CHANGES LEADS TO CHEMICAL REACTIONS
WE WILL OBSERVE DIFFERENT IMAGES AND TRY TO IDENTIFY THE TYPES OF CHEMICAL REACTIONS
5
WHAT D0 YOU OBSERVE
6
Synthesis Reactions: X + Y-->XY In this equation, X and Y can be compounds or elements. The result XY is a compound. Two different people unite to be one in marriage 2 Reactants and 1 Product
7
Examples of Combination Reactions:
2Ba + O2 -->2BaO 4Cu + O2 -->2Cu2O 2H2 + O2 -->2H2O 2Na + Cl2 -->2NaCl
8
What do you observe
9
Decomposition Reactions:
In decomposition reaction, a compound is broken down into two simpler substances. XY --> X + Y Decomposition reactions are the opposite of synthesis reactions. 1 Reactant and 2 Products
10
Examples of Decomposition Reactions:
2HgO --> 2Hg + O2 2H2O --> 2H2 + O2 CaCO3 --> CaO + CO2
