How do I search for books/information resources in the UZ Libraries ?

UZ Online Public Access Catalogue
What is OPAC? It is an online database of all of the resources held in the library. You can search OPAC to locate books in the library. It lists the number of the items, whether they are in the library or out on loan, and their call number. The library catalogue should be your first port of call when researching as it will let you know what relevant resources the library holds.

How to access the UZ Online Public Access Catalogue
Go to library.uz.ac.zw Click on Catalogue

Search options available
Select the search option that you want to use e.g. author Key in the author’s surname Then press enter on the keyboard or click Go

Advantages of using OPAC
it is specific i.e. shows the actual location of the item it shows the status of the book (is it available or not) it is fast and efficient no geographical boundaries (remote access) It enables you to limit your search to a particular section of the library
