2. CDE Technical Assistance Guide 2016/17
The Section 618(a)(3) of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) requires that each State submit data on Personnel to the Office Special Education Program (OSEP).
OSEP uses the data about special education teachers for two of its Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) indicators. This Technical Assistance Guide (TAG) is developed for special education local plan areas (SELPAs), local educational agencies (LEAs), county offices of education (COE), and state-operated programs (SOPs) for personnel data reporting using the Web site. For the purposes of Special Education, LEAs include school districts, charters, and COEs. The SOPs include all participating programs for students with disabilities operated by various state agencies. For convenience, the CDE uses the terms LEA and SELPA to include the SOPs.

8. FINAL STEPS for SELPAs:

Enter data as necessary
Enter contact information
Print Certification page from web site
Submit the signed Certification page by fax or upload to secured portal
Submit to the CDE Prior to June 15
