1 Task Force 1: Protection against Water
February 29th,2016

2 Outline 1 2 3 General information about TF1 TF1 working progress
Conclusion

3 1. General information about TF1
TF1 working scope To prevent the person from electric shock :washing and flooding. TF1 working objective To form the requirements in the GTR regulations. The working group No. Members 1 Nha Nguyen (USA, NHTSA) 12 Mr. Brian Lawrence, JLR. 2 Mr. Thomas Goldbach, GM 13 Alexandra MULOT, UTAC(France) 3 Mr. Volker Rothe, GM 14 Mr. Olaf Boese, SK Continental 4 Mr.Heiko Mertens (OICA, Volkswagen) 15 Mr. Karim Kortlaender 5 Mr. Uwe Lachmund, VW 16 Mrs. Samarendra Triphathy, Renault 6 Mr. Willi Josefowitz, VW 17 Mrs. Annika Tidblad, Scania 7 PaulineLejeune, PSA Peugeot Citroen (OICA) 18 Mrs. Laura Schenk,Daimler 8 Kazuya Ohzono(Japan, Honda) 19 Michael Guse, Daimler 9 Mr. Masaaki Iwasaki, Toyota 20 Mr.Zhan Wenzhang, China, BAIC GROUP 10 Mr. Takahiko Miki, Toyota 21 Mr.Chen Ping   China ,CHANGAN 11 Mr. Naoki Kinoshita, Honda 22 Mr. ZhangTianqiang, China, FAW

4 2. TF1 working progress The 4th EVS meeting TF1 was set up.
TF1 discussed the requirements and test procedures of insulation resistance proposed by FAW(China). The 6th EVS meeting EVS IWG asked TF1 draft a proposed text for inclusion in the draft GTR. The 7th EVS meeting TF1 proposed draft to the EVS IWG. The 8th EVS meeting TF1 experts reached an agreement about the draft except one open issue—detailed parameter of the flooding test procedure.

5 2. TF1 working progress The 9th EVS meeting
The parameters of the flooding were discussed (EVS-08-17e) but without reaching any agreement. China proposed an immersion test at pack level which was agreed to be discussed TF1. The Brussels meeting Summary: Postpone REESS immersion test to GTR phase 2. Test data from China supports that wade pool depth 10 cm and driving speed 20 km/h are reasonable and sufficient for the purpose of the test.

6 2. TF1 working progress The meeting chair concludes that the meeting discussion results in 4 possible options for TF1 moving forward: OPTION 1: Chinese present proposal as described by EVS-08-17 OPTION 2: US proposal to expand scope of the water exposure tests as described in EVSTF-06-06 OPTION 3: Postpone water requirements to phase 2 to allow time for research and a wider discussion of water exposure conditions, including immersion. OPTION 4: Make isolation resistance monitoring mandatory for all electric vehicles Action: China and Japan will be champions for OPTION 1 and provide rationale. USA will be champion for OPTION 2 OICA will champion OPTION 3,OICA will provide technical information and supporting evidence for the benefits of the isolation monitoring system .

7 2. TF1 working progress USA justify the expansion of the scope.
OICA share technical information and supporting evidence for the benefits of the isolation monitoring system. Japan share some material on benefits of isolation resistance monitoring. China provide rationale for Water Test.

8 Thank you for your attention!

9 3. Conclusion Considering of the information feedback from TF1 members, In our understanding all the members of TF1 agree with the draft.
