1 Mission Accomplishment is our #1 priority!
Command Philosophy Mission Accomplishment is our #1 priority! At HSC-2, we train the best pilots, aircrewmen, and Sailors in the fleet, with the guidance of the Navy’s Core Values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.  Train Like We Fight In the Navy, we train to fight and decisively win our nation’s wars. At HSC-2, our role is to properly train the Officers and Sailors who deploy enabling them to take the fight to the enemy to prevent wars from coming to these shores. We will train to the best of our ability. This does not only apply in training but whatever mission/task assigned. Whatever the mission/task, I expect nothing short of your very best. Make Sound Decisions Sound decision making comes from understanding your role and responsibility within the squadron, being aggressive in addressing all matters within your control, and informing your superiors when challenges at hand exceeds your capacity. I expect sound decision from Fleet Angels both on and off duty. Take care of each other People matter most! We are each other’s keeper. Everyone that wears a Navy uniform is a leader. I expect leaders to take care of their people; help them with their problems; place a premium on their personal and professional development; and listen to subordinates’ sound advice. Every Person at HSC-2 is important. I need your skill sets to accomplish the mission.

2 Commanding Officer’s Safety Policy
Mission Accomplishment remains our #1 priority. We cannot accomplish the mission if we do not operate safely! Operating in an unsafe manner causes mishaps. Mishaps are the unnecessary injury/loss of personnel or equipment. We are charged to take care of ourselves, each other, and the property in our charge to efficiently accomplish the mission. We attain this by operating with a safety mindset. Goal: To accomplish our squadron’s mission with zero mishaps. Safety is a mindset we all will have. Whatever the task (on or off duty), I need you to ask the following questions. 1. What can go wrong? Think through the evolution/task from beginning to end; identifying the hazards and the associated risks 2. What can I do about it? Everyone is a Safety Officer. If you see something unsafe, I expect you to speak up. Are there any directives or establish procedures in accomplishing the task? If so, follow them. 3. Whom do I need to inform? If directives or procedures do not adequately address the task at hand, seek guidance from the chain of command. Initiate a HAZREP or publication change as necessary. You are the Navy’s most precious resource and I need you healthy and fit to accomplish the mission. I expect all Fleet Angels to maintain a safety mindset both on and off duty.

3 Commanding Officer’s Equal Opportunity Policy
Acts of unlawful discrimination and Sexual Harassment/Assault are contrary to the Navy’s core values of honor, courage and commitment. Sailors and civilians who model Navy Core Values do not engage in negative behaviors nor condone these actions in others. These practices adversely affect good order and discipline, unit cohesion, mission readiness and prevent our squadron from attaining the highest levels of readiness. I will not tolerate any hazing, discrimination based on race; color; religion; sex; national origin; or sexual orientation, sexual harassment or sexual assault. It is everyone’s responsibility to maintain a workplace environment that enables every Fleet Angel to contribute freely to the squadron’s mission. We will treat everyone with dignity and respect.

4 Squadron Vision To continue to be the First and Finest Helicopter Squadron in the Fleet
