Career Information System
oregoncis.uoregon.edu The Oregon Career Information System (CIS) supports the career development needs of Oregonians. Our mission is to: Develop quality career information resources to support career self-management, career counseling, and career education; Deliver comprehensive, integrated systems of career information for career awareness, exploration, planning, and transitions; and Promote sound career decisions-making practices in education, employment, and community settings through leadership and training. Our vision is Quality Information for a Lifetime. Our consortium members are essential to our mission because they oversee the delivery of our information to career decision-makers. They also work with us to make Oregon CIS better. Career Information Systems (CIS) is one of the most valuable resources volunteers have available to them when working with students. CIS can help students determine where their career aptitudes and interests lie, find out what the job outlook is for fields they may be interested in, learn which schools offer training or a major in those fields, conduct in-depth research on any school in the U.S. they may be interested in attending, etc. ASPIRE coordinators can assist volunteers in familiarizing themselves with the CIS website.
