Boudreaux’s Classroom Expectations
Do the things

Respect your teacher Mrs. Boudreaux’s number one pet peeve is when scholars [or people in general] speak over her. I will NOT compete with scholar conversations. I expect the same respect that I give to each of you on a daily basis. Respect is mutual. I count down from 5 to get your attention. You don’t want me to get to 1…beware of 1.

Respect your peers Our classroom is a safe environment where each and every person can feel supported and valued. In order to do that, we MUST be respectful of one another. Teasing and or bullying in any form will NOT be tolerated. A few mantras to remember: If you cant say something nice, don’t say anything at all! Treat others as you would have them treat you!

Respect yourself I’m here to help you grow as a scholar! Take advantage of that resource. I will never turn down a request for help! Be responsible for your own learning.

Agenda While 10th grade is not required to have an agenda, it is still necessary to keep track of your assignments. I will provide one classroom calendar per month and will write your assignments on the board daily. Be cognizant of your deadlines.

Grades I consistently update PowerSchool. There should never be a situation where you don’t know what your grade is in my class. Be responsible for your learning. Keep track of where you are and where you want to be.

Absences When YOU are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to come find what YOU are missing. There is a file folder by the window. Find the day you were out and grab your work!

Always be prepared You are required to come to class with the following EVERY DAY: Pen or Pencil Highlighter English Binder/Folder Spiral Notebook Good attitude Willingness to learn

Habits of Scholarship Want a good HOS grade? You gotta do the work and be consistent! Be prepared, meet your deadlines, be engaged and participate!

Dismissal Just because the bell rings, that doesn’t mean you’re dismissed. Just because the clock says it’s time to go, doesn't mean you get to start packing up. I dismiss you, I’m the captain now.

Bellringers When you walk into my class you will ALWAYS have something to do. Do the things all the time.

Tutoring If you ever have any questions, comments concerns, or just want to spend quality time with me- I will be hosting tutoring every Thursday from 3:30-4:30pm

Time Management Every now and then, I will give you class time to work on your homework. Use that time wisely. Appreciate that time because if you don’t, you will lose it.
