1. Step by step guide to: Smart Search
(Retrospective motion search)

2. Smart Search - Introduction
The Smart search facility within the Viper range allows the user to retrospectively analyse the recorded video footage, and look for motion within a particular part of the screen.
This search method analyses up to 24 hours of video, and presents a list of events within that period.

3. Smart Search - Step 1 Right click on live screen and select ‘Search’.
Next click on ‘Smart Search’.

4. Smart Search - Step 2
Select the channel number required.

5. Smart Search - Step 3
Select ‘Area Setup’.

6. Smart Search - Step 4
Set the required areas to be analysed by clicking and dragging.
Once set click ‘Select’.

7. Smart Search - Step 5
The selected areas will turn red. If this is the correct area click ‘Apply’.

8. Smart Search - Step 6
Next set up the ‘Start’ time and ‘Stop’ time for the period to be analysed.

Click ‘Search’ to start the analysis.

10. Smart Search - Step 8 A listing of motion events will appear.
Click the arrow to the right to view a still image.
When the correct event is identified click ‘Play’.

To return to the search menu from the playback screen click on the search icon as shown in the image to the left.
