It represents a list of measurements and control functions that the GROUP would like to standardize and the areas we should not try to develop. My Assumptions: This chart or a chart similar to this will help to keep the group focused. The chart is for the GROUP to populate…..I only gave some examples We are placing “hooks” in the MAC and PHY to assist upper layer network management The measurements/control that are standardized will be addressable through a MIB variable There will be as little impact on the hardware and mechanisms in the MAC as possible. The group should not attempt to solve major issues that will take a full Task Group to solve but to place the measurements/controls in place for other entities to cure or allow for a revision to the standard for later implementations through a corrigendum.
