2 Learning Target and Opening
Learning Target: I will collaboratively outline the project, using the information collected when answering my research questions. Opening: Copy the sentence on the following slide. Identify the sentence structure. Identify the various parts of the sentence. Identify any verbals used in the sentence and explain their use in the sentence.

3 Opening Andres loves reciting poetry, when he talks to Marissa, so he has been memorizing Shakespeare’s sonnet “Shall I Compare Thee to a Summer’s Day” and Neruda’s “Your Laughter”.

4 Task- Project Outline Work on Your Project: Complete Your Research.
Start your outline of your project. As you work, fill-in spaces with more research. You want to have a nature flow to your project- needed information together. Decide which mode of presentation you want to do- computers Monday-Wednesday next week.

5 Project Outline- Project Animals from Testing
Introduction Explanation Claim Reason 1 Reason 2 Show video of animal testing- Pathos Explain both sides of the argument. Use explanation from ProCon.org Animals should not be tested on due to being inhumane and other avenues need to be explored. Logos- Alternative testing methods now exist that can replace the need for animals. Logos- Animals are very different from human beings and therefore make poor test subjects. Counter-Claim Ex. Info./Summary Call to Action Work Cited Animals are appropriate research subjects because they are similar to human beings in many ways. Refute- Animals are very different from human beings and therefore make poor test subjects. Animal research is highly regulated, with laws in place to protect animals from mistreatment. Refute- 95% of animals used in experiments are not protected by the Animal Welfare Act. 1.Animals can suffer like humans do, so it is speciesism to experiment on them while we refrain from experimenting on humans. 2.
