Scotsman Ice Systems Prodigy Eclipse Ice Machines: New Improvements in Reliability
2
Prodigy Eclipse Features
Current Situation Prodigy Eclipse Features Eliminate Heat from Condenser and Noise from Compressor Small Footprint – 22”W x 16.5”D x 29”H – EH222 30”W x 24”D x 29”H – EH430 Large Capacity - over 1,000 lbs. in 22” cabinet Beneficial for Self Serve and Drive Thru applications
3
Introduction of New Eclipse Compressor/Condenser Unit (ECC)
Main Changes: Combining Eclipse compressor package (CP) and remote condenser (ERC) into a single unit (ECC) ERC + CP = ECC 2. Replacing quick connect fittings with braze in place ends Improved reliability, fewer install issues 3. Reduction in List Price for Eclipse Packages More competitive on future opportunities 4.Changing to all aluminum micro-channel condenser Better corrosion resistance, especially in coastal areas
4
Connection changes: Installation now requires a certified tech due to brazing of lines Quick connect fittings not tightened properly during installation causing a slow leak in refrigerant; machines failing due to low refrigerant Any refrigerant leaks after the installation will now be the responsibility of the installer and or the start up service company
5
Current model uses 8 connections; new model only requires 6 connections
Current line sets have to be ordered though Scotsman (need quick connects and precharged lines). New line sets can be purchased locally or may even be on the installers truck. No additional costs if line sets that were ordered are too long, can cut new line sets on location If line sets ordered are too short installer can add to the line set at the time of installation

Installation – Compatibility and Retrofits
New and Existing equipment are compatible! =NEW =EXISTING Condensing Unit: Brazed Conn. (New ECC) Condensing unit: Quick connects (Existing CP/ERC) Ice machine head: Brazed Connection (New EH222-1C) Option 1. Brazed Line set (New 3BRTExx-EH): Use as is Option 2. Quick connect line set (Existing 3RTExx-EH): Recover Refrigerant , cut quick connects and braze Use KTE6-EH quick connect kit to add for condensing unit Recover Refrigerant and cut one end of quick connects and braze to ice head Ice machine head: Quick Connect (Existing EH222-1B) Use KTE6-EH quick connect kit to add for ice head. Recover Refrigerant , cut one end of quick connects and braze to condenser Use KTE6-EH quick connect kit to add for condensing unit
