WellCats is taking “Talk It Up WellCats” to a whole new level by recruiting faculty and staff to serve as Wellcats Champions.
Why does Texas State need WellCats Champions?
To increase awareness of health and wellness opportunities at Texas State.
To build a “Culture of Health” at Texas State so that the healthy choice is the easy choice.
To improve the health and wellbeing of Texas State employees.
What will a WellCats Champion do?
For 1–5 hours per month, WellCats Champions volunteer to:
Lead by example – be a role model!
Stay informed about WellCats programs, events, and resources.
Tell others about WellCats services, special events, and challenges –
Share weekly newsletters.
Post flyers everywhere (such as in break rooms).
Take a minute to share WellCats news during meetings.
Attend a kick-off meeting to learn more about how to be a WellCats Champion.
Be the “go-to” person for wellness opportunities!
Provide feedback, ideas, and suggestions to WellCats to improve services.
Roll out wellness initiatives designed to improve the “Culture of Health” in your workplace (for example, offer healthy foods at events, hold walk ‘n talk meetings, encourage co-workers to bring indoor plants to work.)
Recruit and encourage everyone to participate in WellCats activities!
Network and share ideas with fellow WellCats Champions across campus.
Commit to be a WellCats Champions program for at least one year.
