7 TIME SAVERS #1 Know your: District Unit Type (Pack/Troop/Crew)
Unit Number (4 digit if possible) -Use in all correspondence -All Online Transfers

8 WHY SELL POPCORN? Confidence, salesmanship, communication skills, and a sense of accomplishment. The popcorn sale is not about selling popcorn, it’s about promoting Scouting and the Scouting ideals! Units have the ability to fund their entire year’s program through the popcorn sale alone. The popcorn sale helps the Northern Star Scouting raise money for improving the summer camp facilities/building new camp locations, offering more extensive training for our volunteer leaders and members.

Dedicate at least FIVE minutes for a kickoff If it’s not you, then find that person! Dress up the room, pop popcorn. Have games for Scouts to play the minute they walk in the door. Role play a “sale” either at a storefront or at the neighbor’s door. Families should walk out excited, informed, and ready to sell. The key is to do SOMETHING—ANYTHING to promote the sale

-Log into Trails End to see what was sold in 2017 -See what top selling Scouts have left -Plan on adding NEW Scouts with recruitment -When in doubt order 75-80% of 2017 sales

16 SET GOALS Set goals for your unit and for each Scout. Scouts who set goals sell twice as much as Scouts who do not set a goal… same is true for units. Goals should be based on your budget to fund the Scouting year. If a Scout runs out of product, encourage him to continue to SELL to his goal by taking orders to be filled later!

17 how to sell 600 Show your families how easy it is to hit their goal. It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3! $200 + $200 $600 Start with family, friends, Mom and Dad’s co-workers, closest neighbors, etc. Participate in two storefront shifts with an average of $100 sales per shift Canvas your neighborhood by going door-to-door. Don’t forget to… Create an online sales account and send s to family and friends who live faraway, as a way to help you get to $600 even EASIER!

22 RETURNS EARLY RETURNS Sunday Oct. 7 and Monday Oct 8 4-7p.m. at 2 locations No questions asked Units can only return FULL Cases of product at early return days. FINAL RETURNS Thursday Nov. 1 Eagle River & Trailblazer 5-7p.m. Sunday Nov 4 and Monday Nov 5 4p.m.-7p.m. 4 locations Sunday, 1 on Monday. Units will only be able to return up to 15% of their TOTAL Show and Deliver order after Oct 8.   ABSOLUTELY NO RETURNS AFTER NOVEMBER 5

Sweet and Savory Chocolate Lovers Any indication they have been opened means they will be denied a return Do NOT leave chocolate out in the sun, hot car, storefront. Better to put it in a cooler, inside or not bring it at all. Bricks will NOT be accepted
