Collaboration, Learning and Improvement Champion
Emma Hughes Collaboration, Learning and Improvement Champion I do wellbeing, inclusion, collaboration, improvement and sharing best practice. It makes me feel proud when people tell me the wellbeing work we have done has made a difference to them personally. As a health advocate I do find it a challenge to eat healthy; everything in proportion is fine though... In Area 14 we organised a ‘bring your child to work day’, I brought my niece Abbie, she loved the day, paper bridges, spaghetti towers, bug hotels etc. She went on to choose engineering in her year 9 options, before applying to enter the first University Technical College (UTC) for Engineering in the North East. She’s currently14 and will be joining UTC in September. I might not be an engineer but seeing the options and opportunities engineering has to offer has given me the confidence to encourage my niece to develop her interest and support her in applying for new opportunities within engineering. Helping people, and seeing people smile is something I love most about my job and I would definitely recommend engineering as a career. . #INWED17 A-one+
