What is Methods in context??
MIC is just combining what you know about education and research methods! For instance, why might the use of questionnaires not be suitable to investigate bullying within schools So really you are not learning anything new in this topic your just practicing new skills!

Research in education can involve the study of a variety of groups Teachers Pupils Parents And places.. Classroom School The specific group/context being studied raises particular issues

Practical issue-teachers may feel they lack time to become involved in research Ethical issue- confidentiality of staff must be maintained to protect staff with regards to comments made theoretical issue- Hawthorne effect may occur when being observed

Researching Parents We can study students, pupils, teachers and classrooms and schools… Parents also play an important part in the educational process e.g. How they bring up their children Their involvement in school through parent-teacher contacts, parent governors, attendance at parents evenings and so on Marketisation policies to encourage parents to see themselves as consumers, for example in choice of school What are the problems with studying parents? pg. 105
