When you return, sign back in, including the sign IN time. This is a matter of safety and it will be enforced. If you leave the room for 15 minutes or more without a note, you will receive a cut for the entire class. Only ONE student may leave the room at a time. The hall pass is for the restroom only. It is NOT to run errands around the school !!

10 Beginning class Each day
Please take your seat immediately, look at the agenda for the day on the board, read the journal topic, and begin your journal. 2. If you were absent, look at lesson plans and check for any handouts in the absentee folders. You do not need to ask me, “Did I miss anything?” Of course, you did! 3. An appropriate time to ask me questions is before the bell has rung or when I come around to stamp homework & journal, or after class—not at the beginning of class after the bell has rung. (I am preparing to teach the class!)

11 Journals Look at the journal topic on the board. Begin your journal entry immediately. You will have approximately minutes to complete it. If you complete it, you will receive a stamp. You must make it to the bottom of the page, regardless of the size of your handwriting or your journal pages. Forget your journal? Write on a piece of paper and staple it in later. If you talk or are disruptive during the journal writing time, you will NOT receive a stamp, even if you complete the journal on time. If you are absent, you still must complete the journal at home. When you are finished with the journal, you should read your outside reading book quietly until the rest of the class is finished. DO NOT INTERRUPT ANOTHER STUDENT.

Grading: -Completion: I will count stamps for completion points. (hw/cw grade) -Accuracy: I will also randomly choose one assignment from the packet to grade for comprehension, so each one should show your best effort! (writing grade) 3..
