Why wiki? You could use it modestly, not at all, quite a bit, or as an alternative to bb. I’ll provide ongoing support (may ask a few questions about your experience at end of semester). Can help you demonstrate some of the ideas being discussed this semester They get experience with a wiki – one of the major genres of new media. Useful experience (vs. “digital esperanto”) You can put on your resume that you ran a class with a wiki that integrated social media functions in order to promote digital literacy and citizenship…etc. A trip down memory lane…

Why wiki? It can open up your teaching, foster connections and collaboration. Provide alternative platforms for teaching; give students experience of a CMS with relevance outside the classroom; open up different roles for students than the traditional LMS. Can be used to cultivate a more critical, reflexive understanding of new media spaces. Make resources more widely available to teachers
