Types of Sentences Review
Simple: Single subject with a single predicate Example: Icebergs are a hazard to shipping. Or a single subject with a compound predicate Ships avoid icebergs but sometimes collide with one. Or a compound subject with a single predicate Big ships and small boats are equally in danger.

Compound Sentences Contain two independent clauses;
Pacific manta rays are the largest in the world and some of them have wingspans of 20 feet. A blue whale spouts water and it gives birth to live baby blue whales.

Complex Sentences A dependent clause + an independent clause;
Because the Atlantis is equipped for research, it carries a submersible called Alvin. Alvin is a white and orange sub that is used to explore underwater mountains.

Compound-Complex Sentences
Contains two independent clauses + one or more dependent clause Although I enjoy camping, I haven’t had the time to go camping lately and I haven’t had anyone to go camping with me.
