2 The Volunteer Toolkit (VTK)
If you thought the Volunteer Toolkit (VTK) was just for Leaders, look again. Parents can log into the VTK and view all the exciting things happening with the troop. Check out the troop’s year plan and meeting content. See what achievements your daughter has earned. You can review your contact information. You can also download meeting aids and resources. Want to see how much money the troop has in the troop checking account? There is a place to see that too. To learn more about the VTK just sign in on and click “MY GS”. You can use any device - desktop, laptop, smart phone or tablet.

3 How to Log In On the main page of the Girl Scouts of Southern Illinois website, click on the “MY GS” tab. A drop down menu will show you the options to choose from. Click on Volunteer Toolkit. You will be taken to the log in page.

4 Username and Password Parents must have created an account with Member Community in order to log in. If you haven’t created an account, contact Customer Care at or call and they will send you an with a link to set up an account. If you have an account, your address should be your username and then enter your password. Forgot your password? No problem. Just click on the “Forgot your Password” link and an from the Member Community will be sent to help you get logged in.

5 The Welcome Page Parents, once you are logged in, you will be taken to the Welcome page. You will select “Volunteer Toolkit” to enter. If you have girls in other troops, you will be asked to select the troop you want to view.

6 Tabs FINANCES Upon entering the Volunteer Toolkit, you will see 5 tabs at the top of the page. You can view and explore each tab. This tab is the “MY Troop” tab where you can see your Girl Scout’s contact information and can update if needed. You can also see your Girl Scout’s attendance and achievement records here.

7 The Year & Meeting Plan When you click on the “Year Plan” tab, you can see all the meetings planned for the year. If you want to know more about a specific meeting, click on the title and you will be taken to the “Meeting Plan” page. On this page you will see the meeting overview, materials needed, and meeting aids. You will also be able to see the meeting agenda. To check out upcoming meetings or previous meetings, just click on the arrow on the right or left side of the meeting title.

8 The Resource Tab Check out the “Resource” tab to find many tools valuable for parents. Here are two examples: the Uniform Placement link and an article “Growth & Support for Your Girl” under the Family Hub link.

9 Finance Tab The last tab to explore is the Finance tab.
On the Finance tab you can see the income and expenses of the troop. The troop treasurer and/or leader should be updating this information regularly. Around the middle of June, the troop treasurer will submit the Annual Troop Finance Report to council. You should be able to see the date this was submitted and by who once this has occurred. If you have any questions regarding the troop’s finances contact your troop’s treasurer or leader.
