1 6th Amendment Right to a speedy trial: Within 90 days of an arrest.
Right to a public trial: This way they can not convict you without witnesses. Right to be tried in the district that you were arrested. Right to call witness on your behalf. Right to face your accuser and witnesses Right to a lawyer Gideon vs. Wainwright Miranda vs Arizona

2 7th Amendment The right to have a jury trial in a civil case if the case is over $20.00 or more. Civil trial is a case that someone sues or a tort (1 person wrongs another person)

3 Eighth Amendment The right to NOT have cruel and unusual punishment.
Korematzu vs. United States The right to NOT have excessive bail

4 Ninth Amendment Rights to the people
The 9th Amendment stated that these are not the only basic rights. (The government could not say- this is it.)

5 Tenth Amendment Powers to the state governments.
All powers not prohibited to the state government And not granted to the federal government Are reserved for the state government.
