Air Force High Flyin’BBQ Challenge Program Run Dates: Feb 2014-Sep 2014 Program Lead AFPC/SVP Key Contact Name: Lt Col Benji Jackson AFPC/SVI, DSN Date Issued: Key Messages: Designed to increase/improve morale and resilience, strengthen community ties Foster local community involvement for Airmen Build excitement for Air Force members and garner national recognition for their talents Key Facts: The AF High Flyin’ BBQ Challenge consists of three components: Round I: The “Contest” – An essay contest to determine eligible contenders Round 2: The “Contenders” – Two contenders in each of three regions will be selected from essay submissions to compete in nationally sanctioned local contests (close to home station) Round 3: The “Challenge” – The three overall top scoring contenders compete in the AF-Level High Flyin’ BBQ Challenge held in conjunction w/ the 2014 Fall Fest in San Antonio, TX (Sep 14) Overall prize packages increase in value at each level including: Over $15K in cash and prizes including grilling accessories and gift cards. Implementation/Action AFPC/SVI will provide FSS/CC’s w/ program implementation guide, and an advertising/publicity toolkit To enter, nlt 18 Apr 14 submit an essay (500 words or less) describing their BBQ passion/prowess to: Resources/Links/Links For FSS Marketing Offices: For Participants: Commander’s SMART CARD FSS Marketing Department- Please use the attached slides to present current single Airman programs, events and services offered at your installation. Per AFPC/DPS, FTAC has set aside a 30 minute slot for each Marketing department to educate Airmen on FSS opportunities. This is the perfect time to promote all your single Airmen happenings! The Communication Card is a quick synopsis of the Single Airman Programming Initiative (SAPI). Please work with your SAPI POC and Liaison to ensure current offerings are included in the slides attached. Develop/tweak the slides prior to each FTAC course to promote and enhance your installation programs.
