6 How to support your child
DO’S: Be supportive of your child: the goal is for the kids to have fun Provide guidance but don’t force or pressure them Emphasize and reward effort rather than results Drive them to the workshops & one-on-one sessions DON’TS: Care too much about how your kid performs. Instead, ask questions such as “Did you have fun?”, “Are you finished?”, “What did you like about that activity?” Do your child’s work. This event is for the kids. If there is enough interest, we can add a Parent category for next year’s Shark Tank event.

9 Baxter Innovation Lab (College of Lake County)
For product based groups, LFF has reserved the Baxter Innovation Lab for 4 sessions. List of equipment available: Lasers CNC Mills & routers Mitre, chop, circular saws Drill Press Table Router 3D printer & scanner Soldering equipment Printer/Cutter All users will need to take the basic safety orientation training. Various equipment requires training & certification prior to use. Each group is responsible for their own material costs. Each groups will need a parent chaperone during lab sessions.

10 Shark Tank Rules You can only submit 1 idea. A group can consist of:
a. 1 person b. multiple people in the same grade (no maximum group size) c. multiple people from different grades (no maximum group size) You must attend all workshops and all one-on-one sessions. Approved groups will be notified on Thursday, Dec 13. All participants need to register on RevTrack by Tuesday, Dec 18 or lose their spot. Please let us know asap if you will not be registering. If there are any openings, we will notify alternate groups on Wed, Dec 19.

12 Shark Tank Final Event Details
Where: Daniel Wright When: Sat, 4th May 2019, 2 – 4 pm 40 groups will be notified on Thurs, Dec 13, 2018 if they qualify for the Shark Tank event. All groups are eligible to present their product at a booth. Out of this group of 40, select finalists will be chosen to pitch their business idea to a panel judges at the event.

Members on the Team: 1 submission per person Team Name Ideas for Proposal Purpose of Invention How it Works  Possible Names for Invention  Marketing Plan: To whom are you selling? What are you selling? How are you different from the competition? How will you reach your audience? Business Plan: How much does it cost to make your product? How much will you charge for your product?
