2
Photosynthesis is the process of converting light energy into chemical energy.
What is the process?
3
What is the Essential Vocabulary?
Light energy Chemical energy Plants Chlorophyll Chloroplast Autotrophs Pigments What is the Essential Vocabulary?
4
What are the reactants and products?
Reactants: Carbohydrates and Oxygen Products: Carbon Dioxide and Water What are the reactants and products?
5
Autotrophs- plants Which organisms use it?
6
What would happen if photosynthesis stopped?
All the plants would slowly die of starvation because the other plants stopped making food. Next all the animals would die because there would be no more plants for them to live off. And everything that uses oxygen to breath would die because all the plants have died and stopped producing the air we breathe. What would happen if photosynthesis stopped?
7
The chlorophyll in plants captures the sun’s energy and uses it to make sugars out of carbon dioxide from the air and water. The sugars fuel a plants roots, stems, and leaves so the plant can grow. How does it work?
8
To help a plant produce food and grow.
What is its purpose?
