Why should I get organized?

Organization makes learning easier and reduces stress and anxiety!

What do I need to get started?
Binder/expand-a-file Dividers w/pockets or folders for each class Homework folder (front of binder) Returned assignment folder (back of binder) Highlighters, sticky notes, tabs, pens, pencils, paper , etc. Planner

How do I use my planner? Record all daily assignments and
cross them off as they are completed Write down due dates, appointments, events, sports practices, social activities, etc. Make daily to-do lists-Do now!, Do tomorrow!, Do this weekend!, etc. Break down large projects into small chunks Study buddy-call/ list of friends in each class Teacher contact information Logins/passwords (net classroom, blogs, , etc)

Where and When? Choose a consistent study place (good lighting, comfortable, free of distractions) Homework Survival Kit-sticky notes, pencils, rulers, tape, graph paper, etc. Choose a consistent time to study (complete homework, read, review upcoming assignments) Post reminders-sticky notes on mirrors and doors Post a master family calendar Clean up study area weekly/ restock supplies

Nights and Weekends Place packed backpack, gym clothes,
instrument, jacket, etc by the door the night before Make checklists of what to take each day Pick out clothes the night before Sundays-plan out your week with your planner (assignments, school events, free time)

Lockers Keep additional supplies Clean out lockers weekly-get
rid of anything not necessary Post reminders/checklists of what to take to each class

Study Hall Review your planner
Gather materials, information, and supplies needed to complete homework Ask teachers or other students questions before leaving school
