FDM & SMS Integration Why? How? Benefits
Bob W. Whetsell Vice President of Sales - Aerobytes Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, thanks for the introduction. By a show of hands - How may operators have implemented and have SMS software tool? How many operators have an FDM program? So, the real questions is how many operators have the ability to integrate both safety databases?

FDM is a subset of SMS. If you had another subset of SMS and you were restricted from getting that information would you think that was a good thing. Raise hands if you think it is good to have all information available. Up to now it has been a technology issue but not any more.

SMS FDM SMS is more powerful when FDM information is exposed rather than hidden. We can work the opposite direction from your FDM system to your SMS. When performing you daily FDM analysis you find a flight with some type of reportable event ,occurrence or exceedance you can access your SMS system to see if an ASR was created or create one. This allows data from these two previously separate safety databases to be integrated to reveal underlying information that previously appeared unconnected.
