1 The Image-Based Grasp Synthesis Using Genetic Algorithm Ze Yu and Jason Gu Robotics and Control Research Group, Dalhousie University Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada A grasp synthesis algorithm was proposed using the Genetic Algorithm. The searching efficiency of GA was taken advantage of for handling vast search space. A method of synthesizing hand configuration was developed for generating control commands for three-fingered robotic hand, specifically the BarrettHand-8. Synthesized Grips on Different Objects
