CRUE ERA-Net 16 partners from 12 MS « Coordination de la Recherche sur la gestion des inondations financée dans l’Union Européenne » An FP6 ‘Co-ordination Action’ for the FUNDERS of flood research (Govt bodies, agencies etc) Started in Nov 2004–Ended under FP6 in Oct 2009 Overall budget € 3 million Focusing on all types of flood ERAC-CT CRUE Partners have continued to co-operate, from Nov 2009 up to now, on a voluntary basis for the 2nd JFI by signing a co-op agreement

1st ERA-Net CRUE JFI Risk assessment and risk management:
Effectiveness and efficiency of non-structural flood risk management measures CRUE partners/funding bodies: 6 – BMBF (D); BMLFUW (A); DEFRA (UK); SG-EQD (UK); MEEDDAT (F); MICINN (E). Research project funded: FLOODERA RISKCATCH Room for the River EWASE PRO_Floodplain Simulation of Risk Small Urban Catchments Total budget: ca. € ,00 Call launched in 2005 – Projects started in 2007 and ended in 2008. Projects’ Final Report and the Synthesis report on 1st Joint Funding Initiative are available on CRUE website: (“Publications” sect.)

2nd ERA-Net CRUE JFI Within such funding initiative, launched in support of the Floods Directive 2007/60/EC, seven international joint research projects with test sites (34) all over Europe have been funded and focus on a broad spectrum of issues related to the enhancement of resilience.

Projects started in September 2009 Projects ended in August/September 2011 (SCP will end in February 2012) Kick-off meeting: Roma, 21 October 2009, jointly with the CRUE Final Conference Mid-term seminar: Madrid, October 2010. Final meeting: Graz, September 2011, jointly with the “UFRIM International Symposium”

DIANE-CM – Decentralised integrated analysis and enhancement of awareness through collaborative modelling and management of flood risk FIM FRAME – Flood Incident Management – A framework for improvement FREEMAN – Flood resilience enhancement and management: A pilot study in Flanders, Germany and Italy IMRA – Integrative flood risk governance approach for improvement of risk awareness and increased public participation RISKMAP – Improving flood risk maps as a means to foster public participation and raising flood risk awareness: Toward flood resilient communities SUFRI – Sustainable strategies of urban flood risk management with non-structural measures to cope with the residual risk URFLOOD – Understanding uncertainty and risk in communicating about floods (w. hyperlinks to projects’ website)

Synthesis report & recommendations
Overarching topics addressed: – Implementation of the EU Floods Directive – Participation – Harmonization – Restrictions (to transferability) – Enhancement of resilience The CRUE consortium would be pleased to present to the WG F delegates conclusions & recommendations of the 2nd JFI research projects at the next WG F meeting (Spring 2012).
