6. The Cerebrum (“Higher Brain”)‏
Largest part of brain
Divided into left & right cerebral hemisphere
Integrating centre from memory, learning, emotions and other highly complex functions

7. The Cerebellum Controls balance and muscular co-ordination
Responsible for the learning (and remembering) of motor skills, e.g. “you never forget how to ride a bike”

8. The Medulla (oblongata)‏
Controls heartbeat, breathing rate, blood vessel activity, swallowing, vomiting and digestion.

Controls breathing and heart rate
Enables conscious thought, memory, learning and intelligence
Controls balance and muscular coordination
