A Note from the Teacher What’s Happening in... This week in reading, we will finish our unit on fiction narratives and character change. We will begin our informative writing unit. In grammar, we will begin learning about concrete and abstract nouns. Test Dates: Voc.Week 1/2 Test: 10/19. Grammar: Concrete and Abstract Noun quiz on 10/19. Word Study: List #5 test on 10/19. Make sure to study vocabulary and spelling EVERY night. Students should also read at least 20 minutes each night. Field trip money is due Friday, October 19th. Students may do a reading fair project for an EXTRA 10 points on their lowest ELA comprehension grade. Homework reminder Homework packets are sent home on Mondays and due on Fridays. Study and practice vocabulary/spelling nightly. Dates to remember Voc. Week 2 Vocabulary: Lob: to throw Tremble: to shake uncontrollably. Skeptic: someone who is slow to believe something. Propose: to make a suggestion or share an idea. Inflate: to fill with gas or air.
