Standing on Holy Ground
Acts 7: 17 – 36 Moses was in an “unholy” land All but Moses and his family remained in Egypt Exodus 2:15 Exodus 2: 21 – 22 Exodus 2:25 What made Jethro a “priest” in Midian? Could only have been the “Patriarchal Law” (compare Genesis 14:18 -- And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.) While righteousness was there, God desired to save Israel!

Mount Horeb becomes a place of God’s presence
It becomes obvious Moses returns with Israel to this place Exodus 17:6 – God brings water to Israel at this place Exodus 33: 4 – 6 – God punishes Israel at this place Moses would remind the “second generation” of Israel of God’s dealings at this place! Deuteronomy 4: 9 – 10 Compare this to ourselves as Christians! Colossians 1:13 -- Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son

Also, his lack of retaining God’s law regarding circusicion.
Moses was himself “unholy” He continually doubted his ability to serve God as God desired of him. “Who shall I say sent me?” – Exodus 3:14 “The I AM …” “Where is my evidence of authority?” – Exodus 4: 1- 9 “But I’m not an eloquent speaker …” – Exodus 4: 10 – 12 “I can’t do this alone” Exodus 4: Also, his lack of retaining God’s law regarding circusicion. Exodus 4:

Thus, the place was HOLY due GOD’S presence!
It required Moses’ respect and dignity! It required Moses’ FULL attention; the fact this conversation was about HIS responsibilities toward God! The “image” of this “shadow” is Christ and His church! Christ “delivered” us from the “iron furnace” of sin Acts 10:33 -- respect for the message. Hebrews 10:23 – 31 Hebrews 4: 12 – 13 1 Peter 1:
