1 JACKSON STREET CHURCH OF CHRIST PLEASE TURN OFF CELL PHONES
WELCOME TO THE JACKSON STREET CHURCH OF CHRIST PLEASE TURN OFF CELL PHONES

2 Deuteronomy 32:1-7  "Give ear, O heavens, and I will speak; And hear, O earth, the words of my mouth. 2  Let my teaching drop as the rain, My speech distill as the dew, As raindrops on the tender herb, And as showers on the grass. 3  For I proclaim the name of the LORD: Ascribe greatness to our God. 4  He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He. 5  "They have corrupted themselves; They are not His children, Because of their blemish: A perverse and crooked generation. 6  Do you thus deal with the LORD, O foolish and unwise people? Is He not your Father, who bought you? Has He not made you and established you? 7  "Remember the days of old, Consider the years of many generations. Ask your father, and he will show you; Your elders, and they will tell you:

3 MEMORIES - 3

4 OUR MEMORIES As we think back on our lives there is always some good and some bad. Memories can be wonderful or they can be horrible. But we can learn and benefit from our memories. Life doesn’t always allow us to go back and fix what we have done wrong in the past, but it does allow us to live each day better from that time on.

5 16. REMEMBER IT IS BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE
Acts 20:35  I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' "

6 17. REMEMBER YOUR ROOT SUPPORT
Romans 11:17-23  And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree, 18  do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you. 19  You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in." 20  Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear. 21  For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. 22  Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. 23  And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

7 18. REMEMBER THE POOR Galatians 2:9-10  and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised. 10  They desired only that we should remember the poor, the very thing which I also was eager to do.

8 19. REMEMBER THAT YOU WERE WITHOUT CHRIST OR HOPE
Ephesians 2:11-13  Therefore remember that you, once Gentiles in the flesh--who are called Uncircumcision by what is called the Circumcision made in the flesh by hands— 12  that at that time you were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13  But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

9 20. REMEMBER PAUL’S CHAINS
Colossians 4:18  This salutation by my own hand--Paul. Remember my chains. Grace be with you. Amen.

10 21. REMEMBER THOSE WHO LABORED FOR YOU
1 Thessalonians 2:8-9  So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us. 9  For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.

11 22. REMEMBER YOUR RULERS Hebrews 13:7  Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct.

12 23. REMEMBER YOUR FIRST LOVE
Revelation 2:4-5  Nevertheless I have this against you, that you have left your first love. 5  Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless you repent.

13 24. REMEMBRANCE SHOULD BRING REPENTANCE
A. Rev. 2:5 Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place--unless you repent. B. Rev. 3:3 Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you.

14 YOUR MEMORIES? What are your memories of the past?
Are there things in your past that should be repented of? Are there changes that need to be made in your life? Are there things you should be doing that you’re not doing?
