1 Newsletter September 2017 Welcome to the 2017─2018 school year
Welcome to all the children and families joining the school, and welcome back to everyone else! This newsletter will tell you a little about the Friends of Hailey School and what we have planned for this academic year. Who are we? What do we do? We are all parents within the school. We have a committee (see table), and a group of parents who regularly help out at events. We fundraise to provide things for the school that could not otherwise be funded. This ranges from big pieces of equipment to certain school trips. Year represented Person (Child’s name) 6 VACANT 5 Dave Smith (Aaron) 4 Deb Benn (Ellie) 3 Marie Harris (Lily) 2 Nyree Brown (Hannah) 1 Charlotte Alman (Jake), Amy Ashford (Oliver), Jill Harrison (Poppy) Reception Nursery What have FoHS funded in recent years? Big equipment purchases have included additions to the trim trail and the school stage. Each year we also fund the Christmas pantomime trip, and contribute to the school music lessons package. Presents, pampering & prosecco evening, Mon 20th Nov, pm Grab the girls and come to an evening of shopping, pampering and prosecco drinking at the village hall to help raise funds for Hailey C of E primary school. We have a number of beauty specialists on hand to offer eye brow shapes, massages, and shaping & polishing on fingers and toes. There will be a variety of stalls from both local and national businesses, offering a variety of products ideal for Christmas presents or for a bit of self indulgence to prepare for the party season ahead. So please come and join us to kick start the Christmas shopping, to indulge in some pampering time, all while nattering to friends over a glass or two of prosecco! Tickets to go on sale soon…

2 Ongoing fundraising initiatives How can you get involved?
The FoHS 100 club will be running again this year. Please continue to use the textiles recycling bin at the top end of the school car park. All clean clothes, linen, shoes and bags gratefully received (no pillows or duvets). easyfundraising.org.uk is a quick and easy way for you to help us fundraise – at no cost to yourselves!! Simply log in via the website before you do your online shopping, and select “Friends of Hailey Primary School – Witney” as your cause. We will then earn a donation when you shop online. How can you get involved? We are looking for representatives from all years (but especially Reception and Nursery) to join the committee – please speak to another Friend or come to the AGM if you would be up for it! We also need an army of volunteers to help run each of the proposed events below.
