Eurostat’s requirements
Reporting in accordance with guidelines from BOP Vademecum Start date: June 24th, 2014 All questionnaires are transmitted in a timely manner On March 31st, 2015 monthly back data for the 2007–2014 period were sent

Legal basis: Commission Regulation (EC) No 555/2012 of 22 June 2012 Format and procedure for data transmission: Commission Regulation (EC) No 601/2006 of 18 April 2006

Preparation of data Responsibility of the Balance of Payments Statistics Division Services are reported through the: monthly, quarterly, and annual questionnaire. Data are first prepared as Excel files and then converted to SDMX-EDI format

Conversion to SDMX-EDI format
BOP DSD was used to create columns within pre-defined Excel files Each month, data from the BoP database are used to allocate services to an individual country level After being filled, files are converted to .csv format In cooperation with the IT Department, the application for data validation was developed After all checks are performed, .csv is converted to GESMES/TS format Transmission of data to Eurostat

Future plans Revision and transmission of data in accordance with deadlines stipulated in the Vademecum Timetable Convergence towards SDMX-ML is the next step for which support is needed, primarily for the IT Department
